When you are hitting a ball with a driver at approx 100mph the toe end of the club is moving faster than the heel part of the club (somewhere in the region of 5mph) and the reason for this is that the clubface is rotating from an open face to a closed face.
This is pretty simple but some golfers still get it wrong. Your feet should be about shoulder width apart with your toes pointing out on a slight angle. You can narrow them slightly for the shorter clubs such as your wedges but it generally remains consistent for every full swing shot.
The last thing I want to talk to you about is practicing your long, short, and putting game before you tee off. There may be some golf courses that do not have a driving range, but I can just about guarantee you that ever course has a putting green.
This is probably the most important of all the golf tips for beginners simply because so many beginners get it wrong. If you're not aiming or aligned square to the target then you have very little chance of hitting the golf ball straight. What I do is I take my grip first then walk up to the ball and aim the clubhead towards my intended target line. Next, I take my stance and adjust my posture until it feels comfortable. By lining up the clubhead to the target first you'll find naturally your feet and shoulders will be aligned square to your target line.
A handicap index is the score given to a person by the USGA or other authority. The index is a number compared to your course rating so that your course handicap can be more accurately determined. As a result, your course handicap is then used to calculate strokes.
Typically, online handicap tools are free and provide a fairly accurate way to assess how many strokes you need. Usually, a golf handicap calculator determines your handicap, index, and even your average score. Some have the added feature of a golf handicap tracker, but not all have included this.
Recognizing your strength and weaknesses during practices and self storming is also a major thing to do.
